As a registered not-for-profit in both the USA and South Africa, Teachers of the Nations measures success not only by the number of vulnerable young people, especially young women, who gain education, skills, and independence but also by their long-term empowerment and community transformation, such as increased employment rates and community leadership.

When we began the ministry fourteen years ago in Worcester, South Africa, we committed to supporting girls from the informal settlement through our Guarding Girls’ Dignity Project, helping students matriculate and prepare for university or employment. These young women find themselves uneducated and unemployable and would likely begin the cycle of poverty if not for the interventions of the ministry. The greatest opportunity for change for any country is in the education of its girls. This history demonstrates our dedication and focus, and hopefully, builds trust and confidence in our ongoing efforts.

At present, Teachers of the Nations focuses its services on the two communities of Avian Park and Riverview. Our primary goal is to teach the children about God’s love and to invite them to partner with God in His vision for their lives. We encourage supporters to volunteer or contribute resources to help develop programs that foster a secure, godly identity. Our entrepreneurial training camps and other initiatives have provided students with essential skills to become financially independent and contributors to South Africa’s gross national income by creating stuffed animals, purses, and other crafts, sold in Europe and the United States through our entrepreneurial arm, Topsy Turvy.
